The staff member on duty that day will meet the school bus at 8:45 am and open the play-ground gate for 8:50 am. The doors will also be opened at this time. The playground gate and doors will be closed at approx. 9:00 am. Children arriving after this time should do so via reception.
Nursery children should enter via the pedestrian gate and walk around the side of school to the nursery building.
Children in Class One and Class Two should enter school at their door at the front of school.
All Key Stage Two children should go through the playground gate and then enter school at their class door.
The school day finishes at 3:30 pm and children from Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 are released into the school playground. The side gate to the playground will be unlocked just prior to this. Teachers release the children in Class One and Class Two to their nominated adult, Class One and Class Two from their front entrance.
Any older siblings of children, who are usually collected, will be directed to the hall door for ease of collection for parents.
Please do not let children or younger siblings play unsupervised on the outside play equipment either before or after school.
Thank you for your support by not bringing dogs on to the premises – we appreciate this.
Siblings collecting younger children
- Children may be collected by a sibling who is 16 years old or older. The sibling will need to be on the pickup list.
- In certain circumstances and only for a short period of time, a sibling aged 14 or 15 may collect a child if a waiver form has been completed and signed by a parent or carer.
- In the event of an emergency, a parent or carer may telephone the school to request that a sibling aged 14 or 15 collect their child. This request will be approved only if two members of staff are present to verify the call.
These measures are designed to provide flexibility for families while maintaining a clear and safe protocol for child collection.
Walking Home
- Only children in Year 4, Year Five and Year Six who live in the village will be permitted to walk home unaccompanied.
- Only Year Six children who live out of the village may walk home alone during the summer term to support transition into secondary school
This decision reflects our commitment to promoting independence in our older children while ensuring their safety is prioritised based on their age and proximity to school.
