Admissions

If you would like your child to attend our school, please see full details of our admission arrangements below.

The SHINE Multi Academy Trust came into being on 1st December 2016 and are the admission authority for Ranskill Primary School, Scotholme Primary and Nursery School, Whitemoor Academy, Ironville & Codnor Park Primary School and Langold Dyscarr Community School.

The SHINE Multi Academy Trust requires all academies within the Trust to follow local authority admissions arrangements; which has been endorsed by our Admissions Committee.

How parents can apply for their child to be admitted to our school:

As our school is an academy, the school determines the admission arrangements in agreement with the Local Authority. The Local Authority administer admissions on our behalf.

Decisions on Applications and Appeals Timetable:

The school is required to make a decision on the application for admission within 15 school days.

Should a place not be able to be offered and the applicant appeals, the school will arrange an appeal hearing to be held within 30 school days of the school receiving notification of appeal.

For parents who are applying for a place in our F2 (Reception) class, the admission date can be delayed until the term after the child's 5th birthday however, parents/carers need to apply for their child’s place even if they wish to defer entry to reception and the school would be pleased to discuss this with them.
