Geography
At Ranskill Primary School we aim to deliver a high-quality geography education in order to inspire all pupils with a curiosity and fascination about the world and its people. We aim to equip pupils with a knowledge and understanding about diverse places, people, resources and environments and of the Earth’s key physical and human processes. We hope that this geographical knowledge will provide pupils with the tools to explain how the Earth’s features at different scales are shaped, interconnected and change over time. We also hope to engage pupils through developing their skills of research, investigation, analysis and problem solving using maps, atlases, photographs, fieldwork and digital technology. Wherever possible, our geography curriculum is enhanced by trips and visitors, as these bring the curriculum alive to our children and create lifelong memorable experiences.
Here at Ranskill Primary School, we are committed to providing children with opportunities to investigate and make enquiries about their local area of Ranskill so that they can develop of real sense of identity, and recognise the features that make our local area unique and special. They can then compare and contrast Ranskill with the wider world.
