Our Curriculum

Is your child a scientist, a budding musician, an artist, a historian, a keen sports player, a writer or a mathematician?

Our core purpose at Ranskill Primary is one of 'Profound Personal Development'. Together, in aspiring to be the very best that we can be, we can discover, who your child is now, but more importantly who they can become.

As part of the SHINE Multi-Academy Trust our curriculum is based on the SHINE model of developing high-quality teaching: providing pupils with firm foundations whilst developing their uniqueness and allowing them to shine.

At Ranskill Primary, our Beyond Expectation curriculum is designed to reflect the importance of a broad and balanced education, recognising children’s prior learning, providing first hand learning experiences and allowing the children to develop positive lifelong character traits.

We place strong emphasis on our 'Take Care' values, which underpin expectations for behaviour for all members of our school community. The 'Take Care' values are embedded throughout lessons and everyday aspects of school life.

Our subject based curriculum builds on the knowledge, understanding and skills of all children, as they progress through each Key Stage. The curriculum incorporates the statutory requirements of the National Curriculum 2014 and the Nottinghamshire Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education. All staff work within the statutory requirements of the 2014 National Curriculum and the Early Years Foundation Stage; in order to provide the very best education for the children in their care.
