We would like to inform prospective parents and carers that Ranskill Primary School has taken the decision to temporarily pause admissions for two-year-old children into our Nursery provision.

This is a temporary decision based on a combination of current staffing requirements and pupil numbers, alongside the need to ensure that our Nursery provision remains sustainable and represents responsible use of the school’s available budget.

Our Nursery provision for eligible children of other age groups will continue as normal, subject to our usual admission arrangements and available places.

We want to reassure families that this is not a permanent change to our Nursery provision. We remain committed to providing high-quality early education and care for children at Ranskill Primary School.

The decision will be kept under regular review, as we move through 2027. This will consider pupil numbers, staffing capacity and the financial position of the school, with the aim of informing arrangements for two-year-old admissions in subsequent years.

We understand that choosing a Nursery setting is an important decision for families and appreciate that this temporary change may be disappointing for prospective parents. We will continue to communicate clearly with families as our plans develop.
