Week Nine 8.06.20

Last week in school we explore spirals in nature and we planted lots of vegetables.  This week we are going to look at lots of different sorts of vegetables and read the story Oliver's Vegetables.

Oliver's Vegetables

Author: Vivian French Illustrated by: Alison Bartlett Read by: Matthew Willsher Do you like chips? Oliver does, in fact, he won't eat anything else - until...

WRITING ACTIVITY: Make a diary for Oliver. Write and draw what he picks every day and what he eats.

WRITING ACTIVITY: Keep your own diary of the vegetables you eat for a week. Illustrate and label each entry.

WRITING ACTIVITY: Draw or paint each of the things that Oliver eats every day on pieces of paper. Next to each one write some words to describe what the vegetable looks like. Think about colour and shape. Use the pictures to challenge your child to put the vegetables in order from the first one Oliver tried, to the last.

WRITING ACTIVITY: Read the letter from Oliver to your child. Write a list for Oliver in your Home Learning Book.

WRITING ACTIVITY: The Magic Tree Seed. If you had a magic seed and it grew into a tree that produced anything you wanted, what would you like your tree to grow?
