Please do not send children to school if they are displaying any symptoms of coronavirus and arrange for a PCR test:
- a new, continuous cough
- or a high temperature
- or has a loss of, or change in, their normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia)
Note: Although there are other symptoms associated with the Delta variant, these three symptoms are still only used in determining whether someone must self-isolate.
The school no longer traces close contacts. If your child tests positive, NHS test and trace service will need to be contacted to identify close contacts. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/testing/test-results/help-the-nhs-alert-your-close-contacts-if-you-test-positive/
Anyone under the age of 18 does not need to isolate if they are identified as a close contact; however, they are advised to book a PCR test. This means we will not need to send classes home if someone in the class contracts Covid19. This means there should be less disruption to education this year. If the school has a number of cases at once, we may be asked to put extra measures in place by PHE.
Foreign Travel – please be aware that quarantine may affect your ability to comply with statutory attendance requirements
We are still being asked to consider whether face-to-face meetings and live performances are necessary in order to limit the number of non-school adults in the building. We are continuously monitoring the situation and will keep you updated with decisions we make on the coffee morning, harvest festival, parents evenings and nativity.
